scrap our stash #15: monochromatic

Hello Scrappers! Today is my reveal over at the new month Scrap Our Stash challenge and that was a really challenge for me! For this challenge  you need to do a monochromatic layout, that is to use one color and its hues to make you layout. You can use white, black or kraft, but 75% need to be a shade for one color and you need to use at least 5 premade embellishment. Now it's time for some fun!

Olá Scrappers! Hoje é a minha participação no mais novo desafio do blog Scrap Our Stash e pra mim foi mesmo um desafio! Crie um layout monocromático, isto é, use apenas uma cor e seus diferentes tons. Você pode usar branco, preto ou kraft, mas 75% do projeto tem que ter a cor escolhida, e precisa usar também cinco tipos diferentes de enfeites. Agora é tempo de se divertir!

I have to say, I love the color palette. For me working with one color, it was really a challenge. But, I got it! First, I have to choose just one color, and since I have this paper from Crate Paper I want to use, I work with greens. Since I can't let white, I use just for my title. Time for embellishments, I use premade: (1) chipboard, (1) stickers, (2) blings, (2) miscellany, (3) flowers, (4) alphabet stickers. Here is my project:

Eu tenho que dizer que foi um grande desafio usar apenas uma cor, eu que gosto tanto de misturá-las. O primeiro problema foi escolher apenas uma, e foi este papel da Crate Paper em tons de verde/turquesa que acabou me ajudando. Depois foi usar o branco apenas para o título, eu não poderia deixar meu branquinho de forma e enfeitar com, cartão (a gravatinha), adesivo, blings, miscelâneas, flores, alfabetos. Aqui o meu layout:

scrapbook talking #3: not so much on the mood for journaling

Hello Scrappers! This week I note that my last layouts have no journaling yet on it. Probably I will write something down eventually. However, usually I write down what I wanted before to do the layout. What's the problem, i thought. What does change? No, the journaling still important to me, but I am in so much stress right now. 

Olá Scrappers! Esta semana eu notei que meus layouts estão sem journaling e fiquei pensando no motivo de não estar escrevendo nos meus layouts. Journaling é parte importante do meu processo como scrapper, mas a verdade é que no momento estou em stress.

Moving back to Brazil it not quite what I thought would be. I know I have to decide what to do, but it's not here and not now I am talking about it, it's not my intention. The journaling is for me a time of reflection, after sometime I can write about the person or the moment. So, now, I am in the middle of the hurricane, I feel I have to hold strongly on something aside to discuss it. For that reason, my layouts don't have journaling. I am enjoying the process, techniques, but not think so much about people because I am so confused right now and I really don't know what to say.

Voltar ao Brasil, não está sendo o que eu imaginava, mas não é sobre isso que pretendo falar neste post. O que eu quero é refletir sobre journaling. Para mim o momento de escrita é um momento de reflexão sobre o momento ou a pessoa, e o momento que você vive certamente influencia o que você escreve. Como estou sentindo no meio de uma tempestade o que me resta é tentar me proteger e não pensar muito no que escrever sobre ela, até porque pra mim, a escrita é este momento  de reflexão depois das agruras.

I have to say I am not complaining about, I just realize. It's my first step to be aware of a situation and scrapbooking, one more time, it's helping me. Not only to think about it specifically, but sometimes just not thinking at all, using my paints and cardstock and just playing with it, without worry if my memories are there. There is time your life change and scrapbooking will change too.

Então, neste momento, o scrapbooking está me ajudando neste processo não de guardar memórias, não ainda, mas de passar o tempo brincando com papel, tintas e tesoura sem me preocupar se as minhas memórias estarão sendo guardadas. Quando a tempestade passar, certamente falarei sobre ela.

scrapbook talking #2: why I love white textured cardstock

Hoje eu estava em frente, mais um vez, do meu papel branco texturizado e eu pensei, porque eu não mudo por outra cor ou mesmo por um papel estampado. Eu não sei, eu apenas amo. Foi  no fim de 2011 que descobri que os layouts que eu mais gostava tinha o branco de fundo. Naquela época era porque parecia que fazia as cores mais coloridas, para ser redundante.

Today I was in front of my white cardstock and I thought, why I can't change it for another color or even a patterned paper. I don't know, I just love it. It was on the end of 2011 that I found out my favorite layouts have white cardstock. On that time, it because make my colors pop. 

Mas eu continuei nas experimentações até que no ano passado eu meio que abandonei quase completamente o resto das cores. Talvez pode ser chato para alguns, para mim ao contrário. No início eu usava ainda muito papel estampado para conseguir o colorido que eu queria, numa mistura de estampas. Mas atualmente estou numa fase mais técnicas e menos papel, mais enfeites e mixed media.


So, after that I try many colors and patterned paper, but after one or maybe two years I stick most with white. Sometimes, it can be boring, someone can think, but for me it's liberating. On the begining, I use many patterned paper for color, but now I am on a tecnique phase, most mixed media or stitching and embellishments. 

Confesso que às vezes sinto falta do papel estampado e penso, nesta vez eu vou usá-lo. Entretanto, a oportunidade passa, e o papel aparece em camadas, quase despercebido. Eu não sei por quanto tempo, eu já faço scrapbooking há algum tempo para saber que um dia aquilo vai cansar e eu vou mudar alguma coisa, mas por enquanto isso isso é que eu adoro fazer.


Sometimes I miss my patterned paper and I begin to think "that time I will use it". However, on the end, they still on a layering most unseen. I don't how many time will be it. What I learn on this year about scrapbooking is, someday I will find that what I loved before, make me tired. And I will have to change something. However, until there that is what I love to do.
